Six-year UVC coach. Current Head Varsity Coach at Moraine Valley Community College; coached her college team to second in conference. Coached Ultimate 13 Gold to a second-place finish at AAU Nationals in 2016 and 15 Gold to a 10-1 record and ninth-place at AAU Nationals in 2017. Placed fifth at USAV Jr. Olympics in 2008 as an athlete for Ultimate. Played four years of collegiate volleyball and holds records for assists in a season and is second in career assists at Southern New Hampshire University.

Former Asst. Coach, Women’s Volleyball, Lynchburg College, VA. Four year coach, Clash Volleyball Club. Asst. Director, Ultimate Beach Volleyball Program. Played for Merrimack College, MA. First-Team All-State libero for Osbourn Park HS in VA, also named All-Region, All-Conference Player; reached State Elite Eight. Sixth-year Ultimate coach. Law Degree from DePaul University.

Lindsay Johnson
Ultimate Girls’ Setting Coach and Age Division Supervisor
Lindsay is a 10-year assistant coach at Elmhurst College where she has helped the team win two CCIW championships, a regional championship, and qualify for the NCAA tournament for five consecutive years, making it to the Final Four in 2012 and Sweet Sixteen in 2013. In 2007 Lindsay was the Assistant Women’s Coach at Washington and Jefferson College. While studying for her master’s degree at Durham University in England, standout setter Lindsay led the team to a league division championship. Lindsay also played for the Northumbria team in England, and was named MVP of the national championship. As an undergrad at Elmhurst College, Lindsay was a two-time AVCA All-American, the CCIW Player of the Year, set multiple records and was inducted into the Hall of Fame.

Leland (Lucky) Wagner
Girls’ Short-Season Program Coordinator
Fourteen-year UVC coach. Wagner qualified his Ultimate teams for USAV Junior Olympics in 2010 and 2009 and led his 2010 team to a first-place finish at the Mideast National Qualifier. He played for University of Iowa men’s club team, as well as Flyers VBC. Wagner was named to Chicago Tribune’s Illinois Top 25 high school players and was an All-Conference player for Stagg High School. He is currently Assistant Principal at Cass Junior High and is a certified, experienced fitness instructor.

Boys’ Setting Coach Connor Wexter, M.A.: Former Ultimate player and four-year UVC coach. Three-year Assistant Men’s Volleyball Coach at Loyola University Chicago. Four-time AVCA All-American at Carthage College. Graduate Assistant Coach at Carthage College, earning his Master’s Degree in Education. Coached the Boys’ Future Select A1 Team at USAV High Performance Championships in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and coached Select A3 camps in the USAV High Performance Program.

18-Gold Co-Coach Kyle Klaver: Six-year UVC coach. Current Boys’ Head Varsity Coach and Girls’ Assistant Coach at Providence High School. Played for Lincoln-Way East, where he earned All-Conference, and was named Player of the Year by the Star Newspaper and First Team All-State by the Chicago Sun-Times and the Chicago Tribune. Former Ultimate player, winning a silver medal at the 2004 USAV Junior Olympics. Played collegiately for Carthage College. Coached his 17 Gold team to a ninth-place Open finish at Boys’ Junior Nationals in 2014.

18-Blue Coach Matt Marrone: Fourth-year club coach; former three-year coach for D1 VBC. Led his club team to a fifth place ranking in club division at USAV Jr. Nationals. Played collegiately at Milwaukee School of Engineering. All-Conference setter at Shepard High School.

18-Black Coach Dan Busch: Nine years of club coaching experience. Boys’ Freshman Coach and Boys’ Varsity Assistant Coach at Lincoln-Way North High School from 2007 to 2016, earning a second-place finish at the IHSA state tournament in 2013. Played collegiate club volleyball for Olivet Nazarene University and Trinity Christian College.

17-Gold Coach and Technical Advisor Troy Vidovic: Five-year UVC coach. Thirteen years of club coaching experience, including two years as a club director. Coached three athletes named IHSA Player of the Year, nine Fab-50 players, and over thirty Division One collegiate players. Worked with USAV High Performance Program. Coached Ultimate 18 Gold to a second-place finish in the 2015 Palos Point Series. Coached Ultimate 18 Gold to a fifth-place Open finish at 2016 Junior Nationals.

17-Gold Coach Josh Scaletta: Seven-year UVC Coach. Qualified every club team he has coached for the Open Division of Boys’ Junior Nationals. Coached UVC 17 Gold to a first-place Open finish at the 2016 Chicago National Qualifier.Three-year Varsity Assistant Coach at Marist High School. Three year Boys’ Head Coach at Argo High School. Girls’ Head Coach Morton High School. Played four years at Brother Rice High School, making two IHSA State appearances. Named 2007 Chicago Sun Times Player of the Year. Played four years of club volleyball for the University of Illinois where he earned a 2009 NIRSA National Championship and was named 2009 NIRSA Setter of the Year.

17-Blue Coach Tony McAndrew: Nine-year club volleyball coach. Junior Varsity Coach at Providence High School. Two- year Varsity starting setter at Providence Catholic, winning two Regional Championships and earning All-Conference in 2000. Four-year starting setter for Dominican University, finishing first in the nation at NIRSA Nationals and earning tournament MVP in 2004. Named First Team All-Conference at Dominican. Continues to compete in Men’s USAV, finishing third in AA at USAV Open Championships.

17-Black Coach Matt Hunt: Boys’ Varsity Head Coach, Oak Lawn Community H.S 2013-Present. Former five-year Boys’ Assistant Coach, Oak Lawn Community H.S. Two-year Head Girls’ Sophomore Coach at Bloom Township H.S. Former five-year Girls’ Assistant Coach, Oak Lawn Community H.S. Former five-year Head Coach, Simmons Middle School.

16-Gold Coach Rhyen Staley, M.A.: Third-year UVC coach with over twenty years of coaching experience at all levels, ranging from grade school to NCAA Division I. Former Associate Head Coach for Quincy University. Coached UVC 16 Gold to a fifth-place Open finish at Boys’ Junior Nationals in 2017. Currently in his twelfth season as Boys’ Varsity Head Coach at Joliet Catholic Academy. Assisted JCA’s Girls’ Varsity, finishing second in the state in back to back seasons. Played collegiately at Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne under Hall of Fame coach Arnie Ball, serving as the starting setter for three years. Earned his Bachelor’s Degree from Indiana-Purdue Fort Wayne and a Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Lewis Univ.

16-Blue Coach Matt Murphy: Two-year Ultimate Coach. Current Boys’ Coach at Lincoln-Way Central High School. Played at Lincoln-Way East High School, where he served as captain and won Conference and Regional Championships. Former Ultimate player who qualified twice for Boys’ Junior Nationals. Competed collegiately for University of Iowa Men’s Club Team.

16-Black Coach Ryan Vozenilek: Two-year Ultimate Coach, seven-year SPVB coach. Assistant Boys’ Varsity Coach, Joliet Catholic Academy. Played for Men’s professional PVL Great Lakes Lightning team. Three-time national champion as a player at College of DuPage. Played club volleyball for SPVB. Standout player for Hinsdale Central HS, named All-American and Fab 50 Player.

15-Gold Coach Stewart Solomon: Ten-year coach at Southern California Volleyball Club. Coached his SCVC teams to a first-place finish at AAU Junior Nationals in 2015, a second-place Open finish at Boys’ Junior Nationals in 2014, and a second-place finish at Boys’ Junior Nationals in 2013. Former Assistant Coach at Cal State Dominguez. Former Boys’ Varsity Head Coach at Peninsula High School in California. First-Team All-League player at Peninsula High School. Played collegiately for El Camino College, and was named All-Conference.

15-Blue Coach Omar Sanchez: Eight-year UVC coach. Three-year Men’s Assistant Coach at Grand View University, making three NAIA National Semifinal appearances. Former volunteer assistant coach for women’s team at Indiana University. Played for nationally ranked Lewis University men’s team; 2012 NCAA Division I National Semifinalist and conference champion. Played for Ultimate VBC.

14-Gold Coach LaKisha Cameron, M.A.: Four-year Ultimate Coach. Former seven-year Head Coach at Joliet Jr. College. Former coach, Sports Performance VBC. Played for University of Illinois-Springfield, earning two-time Defensive Player of the Year, two-time Academic All-American, and Team Leadership Award. Former Assistant Coach, Harper College. Earned a Master’s Degree in Professional Counseling from Argosy University.

14-Blue Coach Amanda Chamberlin: Five-year coach for Ultimate Volleyball Club. Six-year club player for Ultimate, qualifying for Girls’ Junior Nationals. Team setter for Manchester College in Indiana. Competed for Wilmington High School.

14-Black Paul Chmura: Two-year UVC coach. Former Ultimate player, where he earned USAV All-American honors and placed fifth at Boys’ Junior Nationals. Competed for Sandburg High School, where he holds the career kill record. Named All-Conference, All-Area, All-State and AVCA All-American. Ninth in IHSA history for career kills. Coach 14 Black to a second-place finish at the 2017 Dennis Lafata National Bid Tournament.

13-Gold Coach Lucy Sanchez: Ten-year UVC coach. Guided the boys’ 14-gold team to a fifth-place Open finish at Boys’ Junior Nationals in 2011. Coached 14 Gold to a fifth-place Club finish at Boys’ Junior Nationals in 2016. Former USAV/AA Player.

13-Short Season Coach Tony Sanchez: Eleven-year UVC coach. Seven-year Boys’ Junior Varsity Coach and Assistant Varsity Coach at Plainfield North High School. Two-time Mexico Junior National Champion, one-time runner up, and two-time bronze medal winner. Three-time top five finisher at the Mexican Men’s Nationals in the Open Division. Two-time USAV National Champion in the Adult A Division.

Stewart Solomon
Ultimate Girls and Boys’ Coach
Stewart coached girls and boys for ten years at Southern California Volleyball Club before recently moving to our area. Coach Solomon led his SCVC teams to a first-place finish at AAU Junior Nationals in 2015. Stewart’s teams won back-to-back silver medals at the Boys Junior Nationals in 2013 and 2014. He is a former Assistant Coach at Cal State Dominguez, and former Boys’ Varsity Head Coach at Peninsula High School in California. Stewart played collegiately for El Camino College where earned All-Conference honors, and was named First-Team All League at Peninsula High School in California.
